Om nom nom

Mommy, look at that turtle!
It's a gopher tortoise, dear.
The turtle's so cute!!!
It's a tortoise, don't get any closer
Can I give the turtle some flowers?
NO, and it's a tortoise.
It's ignoring me! Stupid turtle!
TORTOISE.
Stupid Tortoise!

We spotted this hungry lil' guy on the leeward side of the dunes at Paradise Beach, as we were heading back to our vehicle.

Family Lifery

Here Kim lounges, watching the dashing Jack Davenport strut around with a stick up his Royal English Arse while I snap the first few photographs I've taken in nearly a month.

What can I say, I've been busy. We've been busy.

Two weeks ago we both performed our annual Bath and Body Works pilgrimage, replentishing our stocks of smelly-good candes, lotions, and oils. Afterwards, we carted our purchases into a nail salon and received awesome pedicures, complete with matching flowers painted on our toenails.

The following day we got haircuts. My hair's the shortest it's been in a decade, but still past my shoulders.

School starts up for Alana in about four days. We can't wait; she's been quite... difficult lately. Having that daily outlet (and homework!) will do wonders into keeping our blood pressure down into merely borderline levels.

But more importantly, Kim starts school in a week! She's long dreamed of being a relationship counseller, and now she's making that happen. It's going to be an adjustment, but we're planning the babysitting and handoffs and who-cooks-when and the bajillion other logistical decisions that come with family life.

Speaking of, time to get back to Jack Davenport. He's such a dream, what with that white powder wig and dashing Commodore's uniform and that posh accent. He can enunciate in my direction any time!
